Where To Get The Best Vintage Rings
Vintage Anniversary Rings are perhaps one of the best ways that one can impress his girl. But are we really that good at buying something as precious and as costly as a vintage wedding ring? Read on.
To start off, antique rings are rings which have been around for at least 50 years and in most cases have been handed over to the younger generations by the older ones. There are various types of vintage rings. One can choose from a variety of Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian style etc, based on his or her taste. The design and the style differ considerably from one era to the other. For example, the Victorian era has a lot of intricate filigree work going into it with a lot of flowers and at times, miniature engravings. The Georgian on the other hand is unique for its handmade rings which takes its inspiration from the nature. The late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century saw more of silver work with uncut precious stones.
If you have the greens to spare, there is no end to the choice you will have to impress your loved ones. But it is always very important to be sure that you get the best antique wedding rings or vintage engagement rings as there are always imitations in the market. There are literally thousands of jewelry shops selling antique engagement rings. Most dealers tend to sell the vintage rings at a higher rate. But they provide the authenticity that you would be concerned about. A certified dealer would give you accurate cartage, pure gold and also a provenance certificate to authenticate the originality. By far, flea markets seem to be the best and the cheapest way to acquire really good and beautiful vintage wedding rings. They are always flooded with such rings from different era that one would be spoilt for choice. It also is very easy on the pocket. And the best part is, if you take your partner along, she can get the best for herself and also do the bargaining. It's a win-win situation for you. But again the authenticity will be a matter of scrutiny. Pawn shops on the other hand are a safer bet. You might also find antique wedding rings combined with other jewels as a package. But the variety may not be as much as that available in a flea market. Please enquire about the reputation of the pawn shop if you decide to get your vintage ring from there.
For the net savvy, there is a whole ocean of offers and a wide range of selection. And also if you are on the internet, you can look out for various ways to ensure the authenticity of a stone and the provenance of an antique ring.
There are a lot of online shops that sell Vintage Earrings and wedding rings with detailing to the least possible level. Unlike a few dealers or pawn shops, online shops have a return back policy if you find any flaw in the jewel. They also provide certificates from the gemologist for the stone you buy.

Question by Jamie B: What type of black stone would be in an old antique ring from early 1900's?
It's black and seems to appear that under the black coat it slightly turns into a rainbow and almost an opal in the center, it's all one stone, made into an antique ring
Best answer:
Answer by Tanyah
It can either be an opalescent precious opal (white or black, with a rainbow-like iridescence caused by tiny crystals of cristobalite) or a contra luz opal (transparent opal that shows a brilliant play of iridescence only when light shines through the stone).

www.opamerica.com Presenting a Marx Ring-a-Ling Circus Ring Master Circus Animals with Green Base. The very RARE and desirable Marx Ring-a-Ling Circus was purchased from a toy collector who had it displayed in a glass showcase for the last 30 years.
